Jenni Shockling provides servant leadership to the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership — a public-private civic initiative that seeks to improve urban forestry capacity and Tree Equity in Detroit in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, environmental injustices and related public health crises.

Shockling has a breadth of experience in corporate and non-profit development and management, in addition to a background in urban forestry. Prior to joining American Forests, Shockling served at Wayne State University and The Greening of Detroit. Shockling holds an associate degree from Schoolcraft College and is a University of Michigan – Dearborn Environmental Studies Honor Scholar with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies – Urban Service.
