Jake Simon provides guidance and leadership to the Phoenix Urban Forestry Roundtable – a public-private civic group that seeks to accelerate the reforestation of Phoenix as well as improve the tree equity of underserved communities. The aim of this work is to mitigate the effects of climate change and environmental injustices, reduce summer temperatures, and improve public health and well-being.

Jake has extensive experience in the urban forestry and natural resources industry. Prior to joining American Forests, Jake provided leadership to Better Place Forests, a memorial forest and conservation group as well as Davey Tree, a utility vegetation management company. Jake earned a degree in forestry from Northern Arizona University and has been an ISA certified arborist since 2015.
