Sarah Vansot serves as Special Assistant to the President and CEO of American Forests. She brings more than two decades of Washington State government experience, grounded in a deep commitment to stewardship, collaboration, and mission-driven leadership.
Prior to joining American Forests, Sarah spent 11 years with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, serving under three Commissioners. Throughout her career in state government, she supported complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and helped guide long-term efforts that required cross-agency coordination and strong partnerships.
Her transition to American Forests reflects a continued commitment to promoting thriving resilient forests and sustainable landscapes that benefit both people and the planet for the future.
