Sarah Mitchell oversees American Forests’ individual giving through the Sequoia Circle and Evergreen Society to support the overall work of the organization. She produces the Sequoia Circle Quarterly and creates events for American Forests’ supporters. Mitchell is a lifelong resident of the Washington, D.C. area who has dedicated her career to supporting nonprofit organizations through fundraising, project management and event planning. She has a passion for the environment and conservation, having supported the work of The Nature Conservancy, Greenpeace and Rock Creek Conservancy, addressing a range of environmental concerns from national policy to local watershed restoration. Prior to joining American Forests, Mitchell was a senior director and supervisor at Elevate, a grant writing consulting firm, where she worked with American Forests, among other clients. Mitchell holds degrees in English and anthropology from Macalester College.
