Michele Kurtz develops and implements communications strategies for American Forests and leads the development of externally facing content for the organization, including overseeing editorial for American Forests magazine. Kurtz also works with the development team to boost awareness of the organization’s corporate partnerships and motivate other businesses to become leaders in conservation and Tree Equity. Before joining American Forests in 2020, Kurtz provided communications consulting, content development and strategic planning for several organizations. Prior to that, she spent a decade overseeing a team of video storytellers at a TV production company where she developed series for Discovery, Animal Planet and National Geographic. She began her career as a staff writer for daily newspapers, including The Austin American-Statesman and The Boston Globe.
