Kelli’s work increases coordination among the stakeholders involved in the reforestation pipeline and develops strategies to address key bottlenecks to ensure a sufficient seed supply and capacity for reforestation activities across all lands. She previously worked as a California Cone Corps member and Sierra Corps Forestry Fellow, aiming to increase the capacity of cone collection at the USFS Chico Seed Orchard. Before her work with American Forests began, she earned her Master’s of Science in Biology at California State University, Chico, where she studied the symbiosis and growth of conifer seedlings in relation to their microbial partners. Kelli loves being a part of all things reforestation, from supporting our seed banks through cone collection to studying how to better support seedling survival through microbiome manipulation.
