Jesse Gibson (Choctaw/Chickasaw/Coushatta) manages partnerships between American Forests and Tribal Entities under the Resilient Forests Program. This includes overseeing Tribal partnerships under the Forest Landowner Support grant, which connects Tribal Nations and other underserved landowners with financial and technical support to design and implement landscape restoration strategies. Prior to joining American Forests, Jesse designed stakeholder engagement strategies at a reforestation startup, provided environmental and social safeguarding support for international development projects, and created due diligence procedures to assess nature-based carbon projects’ adherence to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent principles. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) in Regional and Comparative Studies from Georgetown University.
