Jerome Foster II leads movement building at American Forests, deepening relationships and expanding the organization’s fundraising, community engagement, and policy impact. As Tree Equity Ambassador, he strengthens national visibility and momentum for Tree Equity by activating youth and local communities, representing the organization in both domestic and international media, and building strategic partnerships across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. Positioned at the nexus of movement-building and policymaking, Jerome advances a vision of nature and climate that is both actionable and inclusive. In 2024, Jerome was named a TIME Next Generation Leader, received the Climate Health Equity Visionary Award and Bloomberg Green Champion Achievement.
Jerome has been a prominent public figure in the environmental movement, recognized as a modern historical figure in the curricula of Cambridge University. He rose to global prominence as a key organizer in the School Strike for Climate movement, an intern for the Civil Rights Icon Congressman John Lewis and made history as the youngest person ever to advise a U.S. President. As a member of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council, he contributed to federal recommendations on climate action, innovation, and environmental justice, helping to propel over $1 Trillion in clean energy and infrastructure investment.
