Isabella Akker leads the development of American Forests’ innovative finance strategy, with the goal of making forest restoration bankable and scalable. Isabella is passionate about forest conservation and restoration to both fight climate change and adapt to its effects. Prior to joining American Forests, Isabella developed portfolios of high-quality reforestation and carbon projects, managed experimental reforestation and geologic sequestration projects, led international business development at a clean energy startup, and advised on climate and economic development issue as a consultant across five continents. Isabella holds a BS in Earth Systems and MS in Resource Economics from Stanford University.
