As Director of Communications at American Forests, I leverage a diverse background to champion Tree Equity—a vital initiative focused on rectifying disparities in tree distribution, with a commitment to underserved areas. With roots in journalism and advocacy, I’ve covered critical issues spanning race, criminal justice, LGBTQIA rights, and more. This storytelling expertise complements my academic journey, culminating in a master’s degree in earth and environmental sciences, specializing in urban ecology and biogeochemistry. At American Forests, I merge multimedia journalism and scientific knowledge to lead communication strategies in our fight against climate change. Simultaneously, I pursue a Ph.D. at CUNY’s Graduate Center, delving deeper into urban ecology. My vision is to unite diverse talents, science, and community engagement to drive environmental resilience and inspire action.
