Former CIA/FBI Director William Webster in Town to Receive Award

Judge Webster returns to the City of Webster Groves to be honored as the 2015 Community Tree Steward

WHO:              Public servant and native son of Webster Groves, Judge William H. Webster will receive the Community Tree Steward award from his hometown of Webster Groves.  Lynda Webster, Judge Webster’s wife, also will be in attendance.  Mrs. Webster is the past chair of American Forests, the oldest national non-profit conservation organization.  The Websters are advocates for the protection and expansion of forests.

WHAT:            The 2015 Webster Groves Annual Arbor Day Celebration will include the recognition of Judge Webster as the city’s Community Tree Steward and dedicate a bench placed in Ivory Crockett Park in his honor.

WHEN:            Saturday, May 2 at 10:30 a.m.

Judge Webster will be available to speak with media following the ceremony.

WHERE:           Ivory Crockett Park, Bell and Alementor avenues in Webster Groves

WHY:               Lynda Webster provided funds for 300 trees that were planted in North Webster Groves on Saturday, April 25.  The funding was in recognition of her husband’s 90th birthday. The planting effort, one of the largest mass tree plantings held in the region, was a joint project of American Forests, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, and the Webster Groves Parks & Recreation Department.
