You may download a free trial copy of CITYgreen v.5 and the sample data needed to evaluate the software below. This trial copy is licensed by American Forests for evaluation purposes only. CITYgreen v.5 is a Windows™ based Geographical Information System (GIS) application. It is an ArcView® 3.x extension. ArcView® is a software product of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). ESRI's products have become the most widely used GIS software in the world. CITYgreen v.5 requires a licensed copy of ArcView® 3.x. ArcView® is bundled with Crystal Reports®, which is required for the CITYgreen v.5 reporting function. If you need to purchase ArcView, contact Mike Lehman at mlehman@amfor.org.

When working with the sample data, all functions of CITYgreen v.5 are enabled. If you use your own data, certain reporting, saving, and printing functions are disabled. In the Sample Vector Data download, there is a "shapefile" called "demoextent.shp". Demoextent.shp illustrates the geographic limitations of the trial copy.

Soil data:

CITYgreen v.5 uses soils data to determine permeability for stormwater runoff calculations. American Forests has preprocessed soils data from the State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) Database to be compatible for use in CITYgreen v.5. You may download and run one or more of the linked files to install the data. If you choose not to use these data, you may enter soil values as required by CITYgreen v.5.
