Grease Fire Planting

Year Planted: 2007
Trees Planted: 5,000
Location: California

5,000 Jeffrey pine, ponderosa pine, and Douglas-fir seedlings were planted in a 29-acre area damaged by the Grease Fire. Rapid replacement of native species will help seedlings combat the invasive snowbrush, which competes with native species for water.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
