Habitat Trees for Dothan

Year Planted: 2008
Trees Planted: 112
Location: Alabama

In 2008 the Katrina ReLeaf Fund helped to plant trees for Habitat for Humanity homes in the Dothan Diamond Grove neighborhood in Alabama. Four trees per home were provided for 14 houses, which totals 56 trees for homes. In addition, 40 trees were planted in the Diamond Grove Park and 16 trees were planted along the streets for a total of 112 trees overall. All of the trees planted around the homes were strategically placed for energy conservation of the home.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
