Name of Project: Freds Fire Restoration

Location: Eldorado National Forest, CA

Number of Trees Planted: 52,600

This project is a fast-paced plan to restore and replant trees in the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains that were destroyed by wildfires. On this project, American Forests will be collaborating with the U.S. Forest Service to improve the conditions for urban intermix areas, general forests, riparian areas and spotted owl protected activity centers. This project not only focuses on the recovery of a degraded landscape, but also on treatments that can reduce the spread of future forest fires. The project will plant 52,600 seedlings of six different species of trees, including various fir and pine, across 435 acres.
