Dig It LA

Year Planted: 2008
Trees Planted: 250
Location: California

As part of the Timberland Dig It four city event over 200 trees were planted on October 11th in Los Angeles. Partnering with North East Trees over 200 volunteers, including local high-school students, Youthcorps, LA Conservation Corps and North East Trees' Youth Environmental Stewards, came out to plant trees in the Housing Authority's William Mead Homes Development. This was an important planting because the site was a brownfield site for several years prior, meaning that planting of any kind had been prohibited in the area.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
