Notable Highlights
American Forests and Timberland supported Earthworks Projects by planting 331 trees at the Boston Nature Center. The planting occurred along the southern boundary of the Boston Nature Center to help mitigate the impact of rampant development on this last remaining piece of green space in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood.
More than 200 volunteers were joined by Mayor Thomas M. Menino, as they helped plant the trees for Earthworks Projects. The trees planted in this project contributed to the mayor’s goal of planting 100,000 trees in Boston by 2020.
