In 2004 the Power fire burned through the North Fork of the Mokelumne River Drainage that was home to nine spotted owl protected activity centers, two northern goshawk protected activity centers, and riparian areas adjacent to perennial and seasonal streams. The Eldorado National Forest, with support from American Forests, will plant 37,000 trees to help reforest the burned area.
