Impassible Fire Reforestation

Year Planted: 2007
Trees Planted: 205,000
Location: Florida

This partnership between American Forests and National Forests of Florida resulted in 205,000 hand-planted native longleaf pines in an area damaged by a 2004 wildfire. In addition to restoring an important native species, the project will provide future habitat for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker and other species.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
