75,000 bare root seedlings will continue restoration work begun in 2005 to reforest lands burned in the 2004 Power Fire. Damaged areas included nine spotted owl protected areas, two northern goshawk protected areas, and riparian zones adjacent to perennial and seasonal streams. American Forests partnered with Eldorado National Forest on the project to plant ponderosa, sugar, and Jeffrey pine; white, red, and Douglas-fir; and incense cedar trees.
