Through the partnership of American Forests and local tree planting groups 500 native conifer trees were planted along the Elgin-Ohare Expressway to help offset local deforestation and farmland loss from ongoing urban development. The planted 'forest' will benefit communities adjacent to the urban traffic along the expressway year round. These trees will help absorb noise and air pollution as well as providing communities with an improved aesthetically attractive atmosphere in which to live.
