Some 130,000 trees -- cypress, nuttall, pin and willow oak, and sweet pecan will be planted in cooperation with Ducks Unlimited and the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission to restore bottomland hardwood forests in an important area of the Mississippi flyway. More than 406,000 trees will be planted in this multi-year Arkansas River valley project, which is a tributary of the Mississippi river. These forests will provide habitat for waterfowl such as pintails, black ducks, Canada geese and bald eagles also use the area for nesting.
