Lipzig Reforesation with Houston Sister Cities

In a joint operation through Sister Cities, the city of Houston, TX helped to fund a tree planting project in Lipzig, Germany with the support of American Forests and Prima Klima. Lipzig is one of the least forested regions in Germany due to agriculture, development and military actions. It is hoped that this project will be the first step to a more forested Lipzig. The trees will increase recreational areas, reclaim farm land, and absorb harmful carbon dioxide emissions.
