In 1998 this project planted 900 pine and hardwood seedlings on 4 acres of the 105 acre Ledge View County Park that consists of mostly of woods and prairie. The 4 acres planted were previously in goldenrod. Trees were planted to provide wildlife habitat as well as to provide an educational experience for the 25,000 visitors each year. Shelters were installed on some the trees to protect them from deer predation. The National Tree Trust also sponsored this project.
This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
