Ivy Neck Farm Restoration

Year Planted: 2003
Trees Planted: 2,064
Location: Maryland

This project planted 2,064 Atlantic White Cedars, an endangered species. There were only 500 remaining on the west coast of the Chesapeake Bay, and they are the cornerstone of bog restoration projects as their needles form the peat. The project included contributions from students at Shipley's Choice Elementary School and a boy scouts troop.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
