Monument Fire Restoration Project

Year Planted: 2006
Trees Planted: 96,435
Location: Oregon

The Monument Fire burned approximately 4,100 acres of forestland within the Wallow-Whitman National Forest. Approximately half that area experienced high fire severity destroying local wildlife habitat and riparian areas. This year American Forests will help replant 74,000 ponderosa pine, western larch and dogwood along riparian wetlands and in the surrounding watershed through Global ReLeaf.

This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
