This project in Calvert County planted 2,700 trees for a riparian forest buffer on private property that borders the Patuxent River and is a part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The buffer had been planted in 1999, but because of a survival rate of less than 10 percent the buffer needed to be replanted. Partners of American Forests in this project included the Maryland DNR Forest and Park Services, Friends of Foresters and volunteers.
This project was supported by our corporate partner, the Alcoa Foundation.
