Environmental Program for Shoppers
Washington, D.C.; November 13, 2012 — The Energy Conscious, a rapidly growing e-marketplace for energy efficient and sustainable products, launched its “Plant-a-Tree” initiative — a sustainability-based corporate social responsibility partnership with American Forests® and its Global ReLeaf® program.
“Plant-a-Tree” represents the commitment by The Energy Conscious to donate a tree through American Forests every time a customer purchases $100 or more of its efficient, renewable and sustainable products.
“There’s no limit to how many trees will be planted with American Forests,” said Nabil Estefan, founder and CEO of The Energy Conscious. “The more clients purchase, the more they participate in the planting of new trees and the positive consequence ‘Plant-a-Tree’ has on the environment.”
The initiative’s charitable partner, American Forests, is the country’s oldest national conservation non-profit that, with the help of corporate partners, has planted more than 42 million trees since 1990.
“Plant-a-Tree” is a major step toward implementing a proactive social responsibility program that fits The Energy Conscious’ slogan of “My Money, My Planet” and broadly contributes to sustainable reforestation efforts throughout the United States.
