AMERICAN FORESTS is working hard to restore forest habitat in the Russian Far East for the endangered Siberian tiger, part of Global ReLeaf’s ‘Trees for Tigers’ campaign. Planting native Korean pine, a keystone species in the area, will inrease habitat and provide food for tiger prey and nearby residents as it provides needed jobs for local Russian citizens. Partners include the Far Eastern Branch of the Pacific Institute of Geography, Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Federal Forest Service’s Primorsky Krai Department of Forestry.
