It is critical to re-establish conifers at these burn sites before they are overrun by brush species, making reforestation impossible. The San Bernardino National Forest is a critical reforestation site for both habitat and recreational purposes. It contains a large number of unique ecological communities not found elsewhere, including many endemic species that are federally listed, State listed, or forest sensitive species. Recreationally, the use of the National Forest is among the highest in the nation, especially with summer camps and recreation cabins. The goal of this project is to plant 107,000 trees on 700 acres to restore this National Forest.
