Project Name: Seven Counties Habitat Improvement Project

Location: Various Counties, Pennsylvania

Number of Trees: 833

American Forests is collaborating with the American Chestnut Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation to plant 833 trees in eight planting projects across seven counties of Pennsylvania. The variety of trees, including apple, crabapple, mulberry, persimmon and white pine, will provide habitat and winter food sources for wildlife. The eight plantings will take place in Jefferson, Cambria, Bedford, Lancaster, Cumberland, Huntingdon and Greene Counties. The planting of 300 white pine trees will provide thermal cover for energy conservation for a variety of species and will benefit many species of neo-tropical birds, as well as ruffled grouse and wild turkey.
