The Schulz Fire burned more than 15,000 acres in Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Ariz., in June 2010. Coconino National Forest is known for its famous Red Rocks of Sedona, ponderosa pine forests and beautiful alpine tundra. Along with its natural beauty, this forest is also known for its recent wildfires due to a lack of rain in the spring and summer combined with high temperatures and strong winds. American Forests is planting 3,333 ponderosa pine to help restore land burned by the 2010 fire.
