The entire watershed area provides winter habitat for Elk. The planting of ponderosa pine and western larch will protect habitat for the endangered bulltrout and steelhead, restoring the watershed to Cummings Creek as well as Elk winter range habitat. American Forests will partner with the Umatilla National Forest to plant over 55,000 seedlings in 2006.
