At the Dr. Martin Luther Kings School for Science and Technology in New Orleans, Louisiana, three 15-gallon Martin Luther King Live Oak trees were planted in October 2007… Read More Year Planted: 2007 At the Dr. Martin Luther Kings School for Science and Technology in New Orleans, Louisiana, three 15-gallon Martin Luther King Live Oak trees were planted in October 2007. The three trees were planted by students and volunteers from Sallie Mae, Parkway Partners, and American Forests. In addition, 43 small George Washington Red Maples were given to students who attended the tree planting ceremony to take home and plant. This project was sponsored by Sallie Mae.
