The purpose of the program is to improve the winter habitat and winter food sources for wild turkey and other wildlife. 37,850 trees and shrubs were planted in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin through the NWTF local chapters. Partners in this project included the NWTF and its volunteers, state wildlife and forestry agencies, state DNRs, U.S. Forest Service, Mead Corporation, youth groups and private landowners.
