Little River Conservation District Forest Demonstration Project

Location: Arkansas

Near Ashdown, Arkansas, the Little River Conservation District planted 5,000 improved loblolly pine and cherrybark oak, replacing a mature mixed pine hardwood stand removed for timber. The land is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and will be leased by the Conservation District for educating local high school students, etc. and also used for forestry contests.
