It is extremely valuable for multiple-use management for timber, wildlife and recreation. A major management goal is the restoration of longleaf pine, which historically occupied the site prior to deforestation for agriculture, on the Mary Farms Tract. Another section of the reforestation will restore the natural type of forest on an area that was clear-cut before acquisition. This area will be restored to a slash pine flatwoods community. Finally, the lower and wetter areas will be planted with pond cypress.
