Over 100,000 native loblolly pine were planted in the Holly Springs Ranger District, of the Holly Springs National Forest, Mississippi, located near the Tennessee border in Benton County. The land was previously private land that had been completely cutover in a clear cut. The land was then acquired by the Forest Service through a land exchange. This site was reforested in order to create wildlife habitat, help abate erosion, provide recreational opportunities and to produce timber.
