This project aims to improve the ecological status of small rivers, to improve the environment and the aesthetic of cities, to decrease CO2 concentration in the air, and to involve the wider community, especially children, in ecological activity through tree planting. Plantings were organized by the National EcoCentre of Ukraine, assisted by its Kryvyi Rih and Cherivtsy branches, as well as volunteer schoolboys and schoolgirls. This was the last in a series of activities that formed the ‘Green Halo of Ukraine’ project in its original framework, funded by Prima Klima and spanning nearly two years. This final stage consisted of urban tree planting in the cities of Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Chernivtsi.
