Near Huntsville, on the Ellis Unit of the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice property, the Texas Forest Service planted 27,200 loblolly pine that were improved for superior growth and form. This site will serve as an easily accessible forest management demonstration area for regional landowners and will enhance wildlife habitat. A portion of the seedlings were provided free from Louisiana-Pacific.
