Trees Planted: 100
Location: Poland

The Poland Belarus border region is home to one of the few uncut forests of Europe. Originally belong to the Czars, the land was used for hunting but protected from logging, however increased development may threaten this unique ecosystem. In order to protect the pristine Bialoqieza Forest, home to hundreds of species many of which are found no where else in Europe, a deontological garden was planted at the Environmental Protection High School at the Maritime High School. The plantings were conducted by PolForest and American Forests who have partnered and worked on protecting forests in Poland since 1994. The mission of the garden is to educate the community about the value of forests to ensure their long-term survival.
