Delmarva Poultry Vegetative Buffers

This project aims to plant 50,000 trees in a three-year time span around Delmarva Peninsula poultry farms. These tree buffers would improve water and air quality by reducing the movement of poultry house dust, feathers, and gases. The project works with farm families that commit to maintain the buffers for at least 15 years. The program is a national model to be duplicated in farm communities throughout the country. With the support of American Forests over 6,000 trees will be planted in buffer zones this year.
