This project helped restore urban forests to Dade County, which was devastated by hurricane Andrew. After homes and neighborhoods were rebuilt, then came the time to replant trees so that life could go back to normal in this southern Florida county. The program was aided by ‘We Will Rebuild,’ a company from Dade County, Florida. The ‘Cool Communities’ multi-year program was successful in restoring many parts of Dade County and promoting tree-planting through publicity and education.
