There has been little natural regeneration of oaks because of extended dry periods during growing seasons and late season frosts. The Huron-Manistee National Forest in partnership with American Forests will plant 8,000 trees to help restore diverse mix of upland game and non-game species habitats, suitable for Bald eagle and Indiana bat.
