Tree pl… Read More Year Planted: 1998 The African-American Reforestation Program (a 501-C3 organization) headquartered in Memphis,TN planted 3,000 hardwoods on various sites in Tennessee and Arkansas. Tree planting is utilized as a vehicle to provide youth ages 5-20 with a healthy outing and also an opportunity to convey appropriate messages. Additionally, it is hoped that the youth will gain a better understanding and appreciation for the environment and the importance of trees. Additional partners are the USDA, various high schools, Memphis City and County Schools, Beale Street Development Corporation, National Tree Trust and The African Methodist Episcopal Church of Arkansas.
