    Slow, but Steady

    Recently, 30 gopher tortoises were released into a managed preservation in South Carolina, through collaboration between American Forests and a variety of local partners. The 5-year project has a planting goal of 95,000 longleaf pines, and the tortoises will eventually be released into a permanent habitat at the site of a planting.Read More
